"Wry Smile" has gone to Etsy. He is my first successful use of egg tempera. I quite like the softness of the colour. Wax and shellac were used to seal the drawing. This is probably not necessary but I feel it gives the drawing a beautiful surface texture. Had to be careful - Ants quite like the egg too. The eggs can't be fresh enough. Will do some more when my hens get back to laying some eggs.

Hey J, love the soft colours. Can just imagine the lovely smooth surface you achieved from the wax and shellac. I have always wondered about the smell of fresh egg tempera, obviously the ants can smell it! XR
