russian drawing

Hot off the presses! A little book of 12 drawings using some recyled paper and card covered with a special paper from a friend Esther in Israel. She makes all sorts of great papers and runs workshops on papermaking. Pity Israel is so far away.

The paper has shredded banknotes in it. I wonder what denomination. Reminds me a little of Fiona Hall's work with bank notes, shredded to make birds nests. You can only just see the monetary contribution in this photo. Maybe the back of the book will work better.

Yes, much better, but the paper was chosen for its colour and texture and not any conceptual connection with the drawings.

I just love the look of the russian script which I found in an old Russian dictionary at a book sale.
