"Carbon Capture" is another outcome from a visit to Tewantin National Park after a fire in 2018. At the time I made numerous drawings by rubbing the pristine white drawing paper against the silky black burnt trunks. This long concertina book was made later in the year after posting "Bush-Fire Rubbings". The book "Carbon Capture" is 170cm long x 21cms wide and designed to be hung on a wall with pins. It has 4 small 2mm holes at the top of the sheets to hang the work. The pages are joined using strips of rice paper.
Because it is difficult to photograph the open book, pairs of open pages follow and give a better idea of the actual carbon drawings.
"Carbon Capture" is on 210gsm smooth rag paper, excellent for the soft charcoal of the burnt trunks.
