KART magazine is an assembling publication created to promote artistic and cultural diversity.

I have been contributing to KART for several years now and I'm always amazed at the contents of the little cardboard box that David sends us when he has enough artists' work to complete an edition. Here is a sample of some of the postcards I have made for this collaborative project.They are made using old photos I have taken stitched together with added collage elements and text.

KART is an ongoing project with no deadlines, and work is accepted on a continuing basis. 

KART is produced in limited editions of 40, each box containing works by 15 artists. This is a bumper issue with 21 makers contributing!

flubbing

Even an unfamiliar word can be a trigger to get me off my backside to leave a post after a long spell. Thank you Robyn for flubbing and letting us all know. I too have been flubbing but with some success although not of a very high order. Still it keeps up some of the momentum we all need to stay constantly creative and doing new things. My recent involvement with IUOMA is
taking off into new areas of flubbing but loving it. This is one of the recent post cards that will head off overseas and keep the postal service alive for just a little longer.

art mail

Just received my first post card from a mail artist Vizma Bruns who belongs to a group I found on the website of The International Union of Mail Art (IUOMA) which I joined just a few days ago. I have always been a bit of  a fan of mail art which I was involved with for a while in the 70's. I just love the old snail mail and the anticipation of something arriving in the mail. I have been sending my friends post cards and zines for a while but needed a more steady flow of mail to keep the postie busy. 
I was surprised that this old genre of art activity is still alive and well and spread all over the world. However with postage rates being what they are, it is better to send over a few things than just a post card (same price up to 50gm internationally) so my zines are also flying further afield. Every day now, like an excited little boy, I eagerly await the postman and get very disappointed when it's only a bill although we seem to do most of that online too.

Just taking a break from the little books and reconnecting with some very old interests of mine. Back to the 70's for me when I got interested in Fluxus, mail art and visual poetry.

Recently, Amanda Watson-Will and her husband Ian showed me some of their collection of mail art and I was hooked again after all these years. I think it's the democratic nature of this art practice which appeals and the low brow inclusivity of it all. I connected up with David Dellafiora and his publications "ReSite" and KART Magazine of Multiplicity and "Field Study". The post cards I'm working on involve old photos taken over the years which invoke strong memories for me and combining them with the daily ephemera that crosses my desk and gets collected in little boxes. I had actually made a tentative start earlier this year which must have been a little seed that was waiting to sprout.
